When wolves appear near the lagoon, carrying the shadows of fire and loss, Jimmy and his closest friends—Elsie Whitehawk, a Mi’kmaq wildlife warden, and Nanuq, an Inuit ranger from Churchill—step in. What begins as simple concern for the animals turns into a fight for survival, justice, and healing. The team discovers a wounded wolf pack, only to find tragedy—two adult wolves gunned down, leaving behind fragile pups, Maggie and Max. Against the odds, they save the tiny cubs, but not without heartache. Max is sent north to be reintroduced to the wild. Maggie, blind since birth, becomes Jimmy’s responsibility.
